Northwood House 1880: An Integrated Brand Experience
Set to open in Spring / Summer 2026, Northwood House 1880 represents a significant moment for serviced offices in Broughty Ferry and beyond. As the commercial office sector across Scotland continues to evolve, the project reflects a growing emphasis on experience, identity and design-led thinking.
NM Design Studio was appointed to deliver the brand identity, interior design and website for Northwood House 1880, with the studio’s involvement now formally complete. The project was approached as a single, cohesive brand experience, ensuring alignment across physical space and digital presence ahead of the building’s launch.
From the outset, the aim was to honour the character and history of the building while reimagining it for contemporary working life. Rather than applying a generic serviced office aesthetic, the branding and interiors were developed in tandem. Architectural features, materiality and spatial flow were carefully considered to support focus, flexibility and wellbeing, while expressing a brand that feels refined, calm and confident.
The website was designed as an extension of this experience, translating the physical environment into a clear and intuitive digital journey. Together, the brand, space and website establish a strong foundation for Northwood House 1880 as it moves towards opening.
This integrated approach reflects wider changes across Scotland’s commercial office landscape. As hybrid working becomes embedded, businesses are increasingly selective about the environments they choose. Offices are expected to communicate values, support culture and offer a meaningful experience – not simply provide a place to work.
Projects like Northwood House 1880 demonstrate how early alignment between branding, interiors and digital design can add long-term value. As the sector continues to shift, experience-led workspaces such as this will play an important role in shaping the future of serviced offices across Scotland.
